Tony Reynolds
After this last update, Affinity Designer closes when I try to print. This happens with Command P and when I select print from the menu. I REALLY need to print some documents so hopefully there is a work around for this. Staff Sean P Posted August 20, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 20, 2019 Hi Tony, There is currently a known issue that Embedded Documents in a file can cause the application to crash when attempting to print. If your document has one of these (or several) you'll have to rasterise the layer(s).
jimnn
Good response, but I don't understand what I am supposed to do. I can convert my affinity file into a jpg or pdf and then print, but how can I print from affinity designer. Simple but clear guidance would help. I too need urgently to print a file. Staff Sean P Posted August 21, 2019 Staff Share Posted August 21, 2019 Hi Jimnn, In the meantime, depending on the complexities and colour mode of your document you could use File > Export to export to PNG or TIFF (you don't get compression artifacts like JPG) and then open the PNG/TIFF in Affinity and then print using that. As mentioned this is a known issue that is with development to be fixed.
Tony Reynolds
Rasterizing the embedded files worked for me. Thank you.
