Won’t update to V 1.7.1

I have Designer. V1.6.3.44 installed on my iPad 9.7 inch 2018. When I try to update to V1.7.1 through the App Store the little processing circle rotates a couple of times and then returns to the update button. I have tried this a number of times with the same result.

Sorry for the delayed reply and welcome to the forums. 

We have no control over the update process, as it's all handled by the App Store. I suggest you contact Apple and see what's going on.
