On a couple of occasions I have lost work that I have done. The first time i thought that I had gone back in my history and forgotten that I had done so. But yesterday it happened again. I created a simple drawing, converted it to objects using Expand Stroke/Add/Divide and then coloured it in with pixel brushes. I then exported the image (using selection without background) and switched to another app.

When I returned to Affinity Designer some time later (unfortunately I can’t recall if it reloaded from scratch or was still in memory) the drawing had reverted to the state before I coloured it in.

I had not explicitly saved the document, but normally AD happily keeps track of the state. Is this a known problem?

Hi ChristopherTD,

If you quit the app, as in fully closed it without 1st going back to the Home Screen or Saving your work via the Document>Save option, then any colouring would be lost when you returned to the file.

That is unfortunate, would be very handy to know.  I've downloaded your file and opened it on my iPad, applied some colour and will leave it running to see if the colour jumps back at any point :)

The workflow I have followed over the last year has been that I rarely explicitly save the document. I do usually return to the home screen though. Perhaps that is the key here. I will try to remember to always return there!
