Affinity Photo will not open or install since update

I have had Affinty photo for over a year now.  I had been using version 1.7.0.367. When I tried to the update to 1.7.1.404 it downloads fine and start to install then just says Setup Failed. I tried to open the older version of Affinity and it says it no longer there.
I tried to install the 1.7.0.367 from my download folder and the same thing happens. 
When I tried logging into my account and downloading it the same result.

So now I can not use the old or updated versions. Even tried the free trial version, no luck.

Welcome to the forums

Please could you call up the run box by holding down the Windows key and tapping the letter R and then enter the following %temp%\AffinitySetup into the run box and click ok.  This should open a folder, with some other folders in.  Open the latest folder and there should be 2 log files, Setup.log and SetupUI.log. Please attach these two files to this thread. This will allow me to look into this further for you.

I am experiencing issues with Designer and Photo. There are problems indicated in one of the logs. I took Designer and Photo off my machine and just reinstalled Designer. It will not open. Something is clearly broken.

Happy to attach logs if someone still reads this thread.
