Ever since the latest update 1.7.1 Affinity Photo  has become unusable for me.  My work is at a standstill. Everything is running at a snails pace and if I use a mask and try to merge visible layers the program pretty much locks up on me.  Working with JPEG’s is very slow and working with tiff files is  basically impossible. I would like to revert back to 1.6 if possible. Is there a way to do this? I have a 27” iMac (2014).  Please and thank you.

Hi Miahman98 :)

I'm very sorry to hear this. Can you please confirm how the app was purchased? (ie through the Mac App Store or directly from the Affinity Store?) This affects the rollback procedure.

If you wish, you can try resetting the app back to its default settings, as this may help with performance. You can reset your app back to its default settings by holding down the CTRL key while launching the app. When the Clear User Data window appears, click Select All and then Clear. The app will now open.
Be aware that resetting your app back to its default settings will lose any custom settings such as keyboard shortcuts and brushes etc. To backup such settings before resetting the app, please watch our Affinity - Exporting User Settings and Keyboard Shortcuts video. https://player.vimeo.com/video/189596577/

We also have a beta (1.7.2) currently which can be downloaded from the following link -

This can be installed and run alongside your current version and contains multiple bug fixes and performance/stability updates :)

Thanks for that, unfortunately due to the way Apple package and distribute apps through the Mac App Store it isn't possible to roll back to a previous version, my apologies.

I recommend trying the beta and seeing how you get on here!
