Staff MEB Posted May 29, 2015 Staff Share Posted May 29, 2015 Hello nordheide, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Draw the circle where you want to place the text, then change to the type tool and move it over the path (circle). The cursor will change to a "T" with a small wave line below. Left-click and start typing. The text will follow the curve (circle). Staff MEB Posted May 30, 2015 Staff Share Posted May 30, 2015 Here's a file that may help. sample.afdesign I created a circle in the middle and clicked on it with the Text tool to insert the text. You can adjust text position with the orange triangles controls. Then i duplicated this object, moved the text to the bottom position with the orange triangles and pressed the Reverse Text Path button on the context toolbar. Finally adjusted the Baseline value (context toolbar) to align it with top text's x-height. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Dave Harris
Um, you didn't need to duplicate the circle or reverse the path. Another way is: Create the circle. Use Layer > Convert to Text Path. Click on the Centre Align button in the context toolbar. Type "Smooth Roast". Press Return. Type "Smooth Roast" again. Adjust the Baseline from the context toolbar. When you press Return, or if there is more text than will fit, it automatically switches to using the other side of the path. This is usually easier than having two identical circle objects on top of each other. Using the menu option instead of clicking with the Art Text tool gives you default handles at the semi-circle positions, and using text alignment positions the text perfectly without having to fiddle. Staff MEB Posted May 30, 2015 Staff Share Posted May 30, 2015 Thanks Dave, I wasn't aware that return would switch to the other side of the path. Seems i have some homework to do... Great detail :) Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
