And when you and cannot see what you are doing because of the flashing "marching ants" , its maddening! You set the keyboard shortcut in the Preferences>Keyboard Shortcuts>View menu command options. I use Shift+P. Heads up for anyone else needing this: "View menu command options" doesnt exist anymore. Things moved around a bit with the 7.1 update I guess. Now its Preferences>Keyboard Shortcuts> then on the left choose the lower drop down menu with "File" as the default- scroll down and choose "VIEW" Scroll down to "Show Pixle Selection" and you can set your own shortcut.
