Another Nik Collection issue.

Recommended Posts

I am running version 1.7 of Affinity photo, and last week Silver Efex Pro 2 worked fine. I tried using it last night, and kept getting a window popup saying "Updating Fonts". It rendered the whole program unusable, and I had to force quit AP. Is anyone else having these problems? I am hesitant to do anything as I am using the Google version of Nik, and I am not sure the plugins will work with Affinity Photo now that DoX owns Nik. I love AP, and don't want to move to DoX, so I hope it works. I have no problem paying for Nik plugins, but I don't want to use DoX rather than Affinity Photo.

I just made the switch from Adobe, to Affinity this month, and just bought Affinity Design, and will be gettin the design program when it becomes available. So, I'm all in!

Hi 4x5,
Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
The old Google Nik Collection and the previous
Nik Collection 1 by DxO don't work with Affinity Photo 1.7 (loading fonts dialog issue/freezing). DxO has launched Nik Collection 2 a few days ago however however there's also a few users reporting the same loading fonts issue with this version while for others it seems to work without problems. I advise you to wait a little until we find out what's going on or download the demo if you want to check it out for yourself if it works on your system.
