RexEye
Recently downloaded 1.7 upgrade. Looking forward to increasing knowledge of Infinity Photo. However, attempts at opening tutorials just leads to the hoola-hoop circle going on for infinity and leaving me no affinity.
Staff Patrick Connor Posted June 8, 2019 Staff Share Posted June 8, 2019 @RexEye Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums There's two links to the tutorials, one in the welcome screen and one in the help menu which one doesn't work for you please? RexEye
Both give same issue. I click on choice. It appears to open and fill the screen. But, if I then click the arrow for it to start playing, I just get the circle thing whirling about.

Please can you screenshot the screen you are making your choice on (before it goes full screen please). It will help us understand what is happening for you and perhaps others You can also find the tutorials here https://affin.co/vimeo and here https://affin.co/youtube and specifically https://affin.co/photovids Quote Patrick Connor Serif Europe Ltd Latest V2 releases on each platform Help make our apps better by joining our beta program! RexEye
Thanks for your help Patrick Connor. I have attached screen shots as follows: 1. From the help tab, clicked tutorial and this is the screen with tutorial options. 2. From the options, I clicked the first tutorial (tried others with same result) and it opens to this point just fine. 3. Then, attempt at starting the tutorial by clicking the start arrow leads to that circle icon whirling around in the center -- endlessly. Staff Patrick Connor Posted June 8, 2019 Staff Share Posted June 8, 2019 I'll see if we have a workaround other than my links above. Also what country are you in? RexEye
Patrick Connor, I have some additional information. I am fairly certain the problem is an issue between Vimeo and my computer. I found this out by going to an affinity video on the Vimeo site and attempting to run it to see if it will stream, and got that endless hoola-hoop. Then tried the next one, and several others, and got the error message you see from Vimeo. I'm searching Vimeo forums, but perhaps you have more clout with them and can get a quicker answer. My operating system is Windows 7, with Service pack 1, running on a Dell 64-bit operating system. Issues arise regardless of whether I use Firefox as the browser or Chrome. Staff Patrick Connor Posted June 10, 2019 Staff Share Posted June 10, 2019 This is certainly not a generic problem with Windows 7. I think that is Chromium (not Chrome) in your screenshots and Chromium does not seem to support .h264 which Vimeo and Youtube uses. Hopefully Firefox can show them on YouTube or I suggest you install Chrome which will work. RexEye
Patrick, Big thanks! I installed Chrome (my bad thinking Chromium the same) and all works perfectly now. I can launch the tutorials! Patrick Connor
