radionix2d Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 So I’ve selected a part of my image but when I select a perspective filter it’s not limited to my selection. When I transform the image it transforms the part inside the selection but I need it to be limited to selection only. Is it possible? Because it’s very inconvenient after photoshop, Procreate and other apps. Quote
DM1 Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 @radionix2d You can do that by duplicating the selection and changing perspective of the new selection layer but what you really need to do is use the Mesh Warp filter. It’s designed for the use you are attempting. You could also try the Liquify persona. It can freeze the area you don’t want moved. And allow you to move the areas you do want moved. Check them out in the built in Help file. Tap the ? mark on the home screen and search for distortion filters. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). radionix2d Posted June 9, 2019 Author Posted June 9, 2019 Thanks. Unfortunately duplicating a layer is just one more unnecessary step in a simple operation which could be solved through transform tool like all other apps do this. It’s a shame because I feel like the brush engine has finally got the upgrade it needed and it’s very pleasant to paint now in Affinity Photo. But easy transforms is necessary for me so I’ll stick to Procreate for the time being. Mesh warp works exactly like perspective filter does - it works for the whole layer only. Quote
DM1 Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 @radionix2d when you apply a mesh warp just tap the outside line and create two borders around the area to be warped. Move the inside lines only. It limits the warping to the are boundaries. F60EABB1-0C19-47BF-9A3B-0A9AC4582A93.MP4 Paul Mudditt 1 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen).
