Jan Jangsäter
I downloaded the update all right. When I begun to install it I got the question if I wanted to save the old version or not. I choosed not to save it. Was that right or wrong? When I started Affinity Photo I was asked to write down the product key. When I did the last update I was not asked for the product key. (As I remeber anyway). I can't find my product key and the e-mail from when I purshased Affinity Photo and i don't see it under my account pages. So instead for an update of Affinity Photo from 1.6.7 I now got no Affinity Photo at all. What shall I do to get it right again.
Jeff Slotnick
I have the same problem. I had 1.6.7 on a clone so was able to reinstall it. Where can the product key be located in 1.6.7? It's not in the About or preference windows. I've looked on the online account pages, and cannot find an email either.
Jan Jangsäter
I should have saved the 1.6.7 version, smart of you Jeff. So I hope the problem will be solved.
StevenR
I didn't get the option to save the old version (which ran on 10.8.5), and now I can't run Affinity Photo at all. If it's going to overwrite applications, the App Store should allow users to download previous versions we already paid for.

If you start the App Store and go to the updates section, you should see the update. @StevenR Please see this link: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/87524-ap-17-crashes-on-mountain-lion/&do=findComment&comment=463720 Sadly the app store doesn't allow us to have older version of the app available but we should have a fix for this very shortly

Not allowing older versions sounds like a massive bug in how the App Store functions.
Jeff Slotnick
Thanks, that was the solution for me...I successfully updated to 1.7 via the Mac App Store. I had absolutely no recollection that the original purchase was at the Mac App Store, I think it's the only application I bought that way. stokerg
Jan Jangsäter
Ok I´ll try to download it from Appstore then. Hopefully it will work although my version 1.6.7 is gone.
Jan Jangsäter
I downloaded version 1.7 from Appstore via "bought" and not "Update" and it went perfectly! No questions no product key no nothing. Maybe I bought it from Appstore. All good in the end!
