LionelD Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 (edited) Hi, I’ve noticed that AD iPad sometimes does not show a thumbnail for PNG files that reside on my iPad. Using the Files app, I look at files stored in the Designer folder and that’s where this is visible. I said “sometimes” because Files now shows two PNG files (conveniently) next to each other; one has a thumbnail, the other not. I SHAREd both these files to Photos, and inspected them using a Camera app; it reports both are PNG with the expected dimensions. Is there a preference or setting that needs to be adjusted, or another explanation? I think I have the same behavior with PSD files saved from Designer, will confirm if that becomes necessary. Screenshots are below. The one with the black background is from a Camera app looking at a Photos Album, the other is from the Files app; the selected images are what I saved to Photos (subsequently isolated in their own album) and are shown in the screenshot with black background. Staff Lee D Posted May 29, 2019 Staff Posted May 29, 2019 Can you confirm your workflow, are you exporting to .PNG and where are you selecting to export/save them to? Are you then using the Files app to browse and view them them. Quote
LionelD Posted May 29, 2019 Author Posted May 29, 2019 @Lee D Lee, I’m afraid I’ve changed the source file quite extensively since my post, so the best answer I have is that I believe the graphic in question was created from a slice - i.e., from the Export Persona. I’m going to see if I can reproduce this behavior from the current copy of the source file, and I’ll post results here shortly. Thanks Lionel Quote
LionelD Posted May 29, 2019 Author Posted May 29, 2019 @Lee D Ok, I just discovered that I actually lost some work, and had to recreate the slice that I need, so the source file is an update of a few minutes ago. I’ve attached a new screenshot below. I was able to reproduce the thumbnail behavior from my newly updated source file. The first two files in the screenshot, marked as Selected, were created from slices in the Export Persona that specify PNG-24 output at 1X size. The export destination is a folder in the AD data space on my iPad (my terminology is probably wrong here). It’s the same storage area you can access using the Files app. After selecting these two files, I SHAREd them to the Photos App, and then Grabbed the second screenshot below. Thanks Lionel PS: I renamed the original PNG files, so you can see them in the first screenshot. PPS: Should probably point out that the slices both specify 16-bit output. Quote
