Daedin Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 I am using the Publisher Beta since some months ago as I am trying to replace Quark Express and InDesign. I have seen through the different versions released that there is a common problem when handling the size of the file created. It seems as if the program does not clean the information that has been deleted so when you are working on a design the size file increases and increases. When you use the "save as" command and sabe the file under a different name the size of the document decreases a lot. I would bet there is some historic information that it is stored in the file and it is just deleted when saving to a new document. I am using a Surface pro 4, running the latest update of Windows 10 and 8Gb RAM. The sises of the documents handled are around 1,2 Gb
Bhikkhu Pesala Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 I see no change after using Save as. I do see a huge difference between before and after flowing the story to 126 pages. 1 page = 172 Kbytes 126 pages = 14.41 Mbytes AMD A10-6800K, with Radeon HD Graphics 4100 GHz 8 Gb on Windows 10 64-bit build 17763.316 • My Free OpenType Fonts
Daedin Posted March 13, 2019 Author Posted March 13, 2019 I see the difference without making any changes which means that both documents should have the same size. I had not said that the document is an 8 pages brochure with lots of images linked from Affinity Photo files. Texts are very little and should not add much size to the document (speaking of a 1,2 Gb document)
