Unknow and annoying parameters resizing text frames content

Recommended Posts

Hi,

What I found really annoying in APub is about some invisible parameters that will mess the text for no reasons.

It happen when creating new text frames after opening a PDF, or when copying text from another document. The contents of the new text frame is suddendly 2.5 pts or another ridiculous size instead of its original size.
That a problem since it's not a visible parameter, it's easy to notice when there's a huge difference, but it would be a nightmare for differences barely visible.

There's no easy solution but reformating all the text, since the button "clear", will clear all text formatting and I end up with arial 12 pts text.

Example to reproduce this: I want to reflow some too large columns of a PDF. I open it in APub, and simply want to add new text frames in which reflowing text before exporting a new PDF.

It's a main bug in APub, since there's no way to anticipate this, see the modified parameters (somewhere the text is reduce to 25% or something else) or restore them. It's difficult or impossible to work with  an app that'll use invisible modifying parameters. This bug is sort of happening in AD too, when copying-pasting some styles, and for example the stroke width will change each time it's pasted.
