Mark Oehlschlager Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 I've just watched a video introducing the feature of using mathematical equations to design custom Macro operations. Very intriguing. However, I have no idea what variables and expressions are valid. Is there comprehensive documentation somewhere that a newbie could access to learn all there is to know about creating valid expressions? Quote
John Rostron Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Use the Help facility and enter expressions. This gives (amongst other things) the various values and functions that can be used in equations. I use these a lot with the Filters > Distort > Equations to modify images. You might like to search the Tutorials or the Resources forums using the Search word Macro. A few of these contributions give the text of the macro so that you can see how the expressions are used. When using Equations, the field for entering expressions/equations has the useful facility of displaying any incorrectly formed expression/equation in red.
