champigny Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 Hi folks, I know that the shortcut for altering the brush size in Affinity Photo is either the "[" key or the "]". On my Mac, I have a French Canadian keyboard and the "[" and "]" aren't where they are on a standard keyboard. I have to type opt+9 to get [ and opt+0 to get ]. These key combinations don't modify the brush size in Affinity Photo. I thought I could just remap these keys for Affinity Photo in the MacOS System Preferences but to do that I have to supply a menu command and there is no menu command to alter the brush size, just the shortcut. I know I can click on "Width" and drag the slider to modify the brush size, but I like the idea of a convenient shortcut. Any ideas? Sean Quote
R C-R Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Instead of trying to change the key in System Preferences, try changing it in Affinity Photo's Keyboard Shortcuts. Select Photo in the first popup & any of the named brush tools in the second one, for example the Paint Brush or Color Replacement Brush Tool. Tick the "Apply to all" box & set the two shortcuts to something more convenient to type on your keyboard, & see if that works. (I can't test it myself because I don't have that keyboard.) Don't forget to untick "Apply to all" when you are done if you do not want future shortcut changes to apply to all applicable functions. hawk 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.5.7 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 All 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7
