krh1874 Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 I'm fairly new to Affinity, I can't figure out how to open a new blank 'A4' page, one that I can add photo's and writing to. I only know how to open a photo, I'm trying to make a homemade book of old family photos, its probably very simple, so thanks in advance. Quote
v_kyr Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 You didn't specified which of the Affinity tools here, APhoto/ADesigner/APublisher? However, usually in any of those apps you start by creating a new document there (File -> New), where you setup the document settings to work with (note that there on the doc panel are also presets you can choose from), in your case A4 and printing (?). Next you add/import the wanted photos, you can use "File -> Place" for that and add text the way you want to look it. Anyway thanks, that worked, I wasn't changing 'photo' to 'print' when I did the A4 option appeared Quote
Polygonius Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 in AP 1.6 go (in open dialog) to the first dropdwon and select PRINT in the second drop you can choose A2, A3.... (all in 300dpi). In 1.7 you can create user-presets... maybe you want A3 and A5 and CD 300x300 or foto 10/15. and YT-thumb.(in 44x444 and 72 dpi........ possible in 1.7. Save all (size, dpi) as user/favorite so you do not have to manage 2 drop-downs... just your user.... (the MORE button is your friend, it opens a preset-manager... not really selfexplaing, but after some try/errors you will understand...). But even in 17 you have no really "templates" (with special stuff in it... special colors, guides, panels...) ... but its a step in the right direction, so say thank you!
