Copy/paste text creates new or alters existing text styles

Recommended Posts

When I copy text with a attached style and paste it somewhere else, Publisher creates a new text style. I have now 3 Base styles and 5 Body texts. Also: copy/paste bullet lists alters the style and removes every adjustments I made. I have to select an existing list and update the altered style to regain my previous list-style. Very cumbersome.

HI basholtzer

The default copy/paste behaviour is to paste with formatting. If the style in the document is copied from is different from the style in the destination document, say a font difference, then  it will create the style to keep this formatting. This is expected behaviour. You can paste without out format from the edit menu if you want to bring the text over but not the style applied to it

Cheers
