upgrade requires license reenter/license lost

Recommended Posts

Hi there!

I bought an affinity designer license a few years back for the OS X  edition. I am and always was very happy with the product, kudos to the team for that!

I just saw that there is a newer version available (was running 1.6.1 and downloaded 1.6.5). I installed the new version and now it is asking for my license key. I went to dig in my inbox and harddrive and searched for an email from back then or an invoice, but sadly couldn't find anything.

Now I would like to know, if there is any way to recover my lost license? I would be perfectly fine to keep using 1.6.1 and really regret following my urge to always keep things at the latest version.

Thank you!

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. :)

Affinity Designer 1.6.1 is the latest release from the Mac App Store. As that article explains Affinity Designer 1.6.5 has only been released on the Affinity Store, but it is very similar codewise to the Mac App store release 1.6.1. The Mac App store sale does not include or need a Product key and you have not lost anything from your inbox. You can always redownload from the Mac App Store when accessing it using your Apple ID.

Thanks for the quick reply! This explains why I don't see any trackrecord in my Inbox, and I didnt look for an Apple AppStore purchase invoice. Up and running again! This App Store thingy wasn't on my radar ;)

Keep it up, great product, great service, thank you!
