I couldn’t find any way to set the baseline of a text frame depend upon a typeface’s x-Height i/o it’s Ascenders. IMHO, it’s kinda essential for vertical aligning —sentence case or capitalised case— text blocks properly. Sorry for the screenshot, I’ve just tried to explain myself more clearly.

I don't think that this option exists (yet), but you can achieve the same results by playing with the Baseline Grid Start Position option in the Baseline Grid Manager.

2020 and this option still does not exist. Can you please implement it soon? It's kind of essential in order to easily achieve typographic perfection. One of the (very) few reasons why I miss InDesign sometimes...

AFAICS, we have a brand new feature in 1.9, and it’s called “Initial text baseline advance” (doing exactly what I tried to describe above).
