ydaltak
How is the file C:\ProgramData\Affinity\Common\1.0\Dictionaries to be used? Is it a place to enter new words into the dictionary so one doesn't get the red squiggly line under text?
walt.farrell
That is not a file, it is a directory. You can download additional Hunspell dictionaries and install them there, so you can do spell checking in additional languages. walt.farrell
More on the "squiggly red line": Make sure you have specified the proper language for the text that you're typing. You can do that in the Language section of the Character panel, while you have that text frame selected, and the text cursor properly positioned. If you have the proper language specified, but the word is not known to the installed dictionary, you can right-click on the word and choose Learn Spelling or Ignore Spelling. If you do not have a dictionary for that language, you can disable spell checking as you type (uncheck Text > Spelling > Check Spelling While Typing) or you can specify the Language as None in the Character Panel.
