I'm wondering if using zoom keyboard shortcuts could zoom to selection. For example, I hit Command-0 to zoom out and see what my page looks like and then hit Command-2 or 3, etc. to zoom in, but what I had selected at the time is not in the center of the page, so it is out of view and I have scroll around to try to find it. Maybe there is another way to do this without the extra step of typing 'z', which won't work if I am in text editing mode.

Hi Bob, look in the View menu, all the various zoom shortcuts are there - zoom to selection: shift+cmd+0

Oops, when in doubt, check the menus and read all the choices carefully. I missed that one.

I don't know then if it is worth being able to choose what amount of zoom (100, 200, 300, etc. %) is wanted. Perhaps if you want to see a bit more of what is around the selected item.

Many thanks!
