Square crop / Irregular crop in Affinity Publisher Beta

In PagePlus X9 (and earlier), the crop tool usefully offered two variants: square crop, and irregular crop.

Affinity Publisher Beta 1.7.0.58 seems to have only a square crop facility.

Is it intended to add an irregular crop facility in the eventual fully released version?

I too find this odd. I have rotated a skewed image to be level with the page but the "square" crop is taking on the rotated angle...and is skewed. Surely there must be a way for the crop selection to align to the page?

If you rasterize the image (right-click the layer in the Layers panel, and choose Rasterize...) that will reset the rotation. Other than that I'm not sure what you can do in Publisher. You could, of course, edit the image in Photo or another editor, straighten it, export/save it, and use that in Publisher.

Possibly when the Photo and Designer Personas are activated you could simply switch to the Photo Persona to do your straightening.
