Transparent Background

Hi strokes,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

Go to File ▹ Document Setup... and check Transparent background in the colour section if you opened it through the File ▹ Open... command.

 

If you dragged the file from Finder or used the Place Image Tool to insert the image in a previously opened document, it was embedded in that document. In this case you must double click it on the canvas to edit its contents in a new document tab perform the same actions as i described above, close it and you should now have the background transparent in the embedded document too.
