MikeFromMesa
I believe that I read somewhere that the current beta downloads are licensed for 10 days and I assume that means they will stop functioning if not updated by the 11th day. That seems perfectly reasonable, given that the product is a work in progress and constantly changing. If the 10 day figure is correct what happens to users if there is some delay in releasing a new beta? It is easy to see how short term problems like hardware issues or problems with the build software may delay a beta release. If that happens, is there some way to prevent the current beta from "timing out"? If the 10 day figure is incorrect, perhaps this question is probably meaningless and you have my apologies (although it might apply to whatever the license period is). Staff MattP Posted March 3, 2015 Staff Share Posted March 3, 2015 Hi Mike, There is no 10-day limit on the Affinity Photo Beta. It will run for a very long time without needing to be updated. It will tell you that there is a newer version, but allow you to run anyway. Anything that you have seen that mentions any time restrictions is either: the Affinity Designer Trial (which is a 10 day trial of the Mac App Store version) or was referring to the fact that the Affinity Designer Beta can be used in place of the 10 day trial version for 10 days if you'd like to trial the beta version (as it currently has much improved functionality than the official version - although we will update the App Store version very soon now) Hope that helps, Matt
