linuslim Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Some questions The measurement tool-tip is quite faint. Blue with white outline. Can we modify the colors? I cannot seem to see the measurement in real time as i nudge with arrow tool? Is there a way to do this? I set the performance to render with my nvidia graphic card. somehow i see half a second render lag. Will see it blur a bit before comes clear. is this normal? Quote
Staff MEB Posted February 5, 2018 Staff Posted February 5, 2018 Hi linuslim, Welcome to Affinity Forums 1. No, currently there's no way to change its colour. 2. If you press CTRL and use the Move Toon (black arrow icon) to move the object it creates a duplicate of it. This is by design. There's no way to perform this operation using the Move Tool. You have to use the cursor keys (+ Shift for larger increments) for these adjustments. 3. What's your system specs/computer model? Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
linuslim Posted February 6, 2018 Author Posted February 6, 2018 I am using a i7 gaming laptop. I played with the performance settings too. I am on Windows 10. There should have an easy way to see the measurements as I nudge. Now I need to move with arrow key first then press ctrl to see the new measurement. Is there a way to see measurements without the mouse over the other object? Quote

You could float the Transform panel near whatever you are nudging (or leave it in the Studio). That gives a real-time X/Y readout to the edge of the page. You can decide from where (on the object) the measurements are taken from by clicking on an alignment square in the Transform panel. They correspond to the handles on the object's selection box. You can change the measurement units by selecting the Hand Tool and setting them in the Units dropdown menu on the Context Toolbar. That may help. Quote Windows PCs. linuslim Posted February 6, 2018 Author Posted February 6, 2018 Thanks for the answer. But I want to find out the distance of the object from another object. There seem no way to do this in real time. Quote

The measurement should update as you do it (in real time). Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
