Nic727 Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 Hi, currently I’m using the default W10 photos app to edit colors of my photography (and it’s doing great), but there is some features missing like mask, focus blur effect and more advanced tool. I’m also using MS ICE to merge panoramic. For advanced color grading, HDR and basic effects, do you recommend getting Affinity Photo or Luminar? From what I saw, Affinity Photos is more about intense editing and Luminar more about color grading tool... what do you think? Get both? thx Quote
photophart Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 Frankly, there's no comparison. I have them both and Affinity is light-years ahead of luminar in every aspect you could name. Quote
mac_heibu Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 That simply isn’t true. Luminar is a really powerful image editing software. If you are/have been a Lightroom user, Luminar will be a very good replacement (I don’t say, a better one than Affinity Photo, but who knows, what I am thinking … ) If you are/have been a Photoshop user, Affinity Photo is surely the better choice. Inb simple words: Luminar is a powerful tool, if you deal with photo improvements. Affinity Photo is a tool, which offers a wide range of composing features. Quote
Nic727 Posted January 23, 2018 Author Posted January 23, 2018 Maybe the best is to have the two? for example, Affinity Photo for composing, hdr merge (even if they have Aurora HDR), removing/adding object... And use Luminar for fast simple editing. But I have to say that W10 default app is doing a great job sometimes when you want to go fast. The only problem is that you can’t play with vibrance or some parts of the image only. thx Quote
