duskwalker Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 Hi, I'm a design student who's used Illustrator for 3-4 years, but I've downloaded a trial of Designer and for the price it definitely seems to give Illustrator a run for its money. One tool Illustrator has that I find very useful however, is the shapebuilder tool, which Designer doesn't seem to have and equivalent of. Of course there are the Boolean operations, but personally I find that manually using a shapebuilder tool is often much easier and faster - is this something that could work its way into a future update? Lorox Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 Yeah, totally supported by me. It's such a super useful tool for intuitively combining shapes and speeding up the design process! So please give us an equivalent of the Shapebuilder Tool in AD version 1.9 (at latest...). Would highly appreciated! Quote
megalofauna Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 +1 here. This is pretty much the only reason I think of going back to AI. Lorox Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 It's certainly dearly missed. But so (still) is the Blend Tool which I consider as at least as mandatory in a vector graphics app. It's been promised (in some earlier post on the forum) for a version before 2.x – I wonder how close we actually are...
