After yet another program crash, I started a new document. At one point it acted as though everything had been flattened especially the text which still needed some edits. Nothing could be selected nor edited other than an arrow that was the last thing added. Closing the file and reopening and the issue was gone

There have been a lot of issues like this The clone and inpainting brushes stop working. Once with the clone brush the opacity had gone to zero but I had not been working with opacity I HAD used the arrow keys to rotate a clone and that was deemed the reason that it went to zero. THAT IS NOT A REASON IT IS A BUG

Another - painting something on a mask and the color was much more vivid. That was written off as an opacity issue which IT WAS NOT.
