John Karagiannis Posted December 18, 2017 Posted December 18, 2017 I want to buy the Affinity Photo for mac, and i have two questions 1. The prise is for ever or for a year? 2. If for year how much must pay for new year? or if not how much must pay for updates Thanks for your time Best Regards John Karagiannis Quote
Staff MEB Posted December 19, 2017 Staff Posted December 19, 2017 Hi John Karagiannis, Welcome to Affinity Forums The price is for version 1 (and has no relation with any timeframe). All minor updates (1.7, 1.8 etc) are free until we launch version 2.0 which is a paid upgrade (no price defined yet). Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

My reason for asking: with the current discount on the App Store, I am considering to *maybe* buy the Mac app, and the AP workbook to have an easier time getting started. If AP 2.0 were to ship in half a year, I’d rather wait for a new version instead of investing time and money into the "old" one. I realize you might not be able to give me any specifics, and I’m not asking for them, but I’d just like to know if an investment into the current version makes sense (I’ll happily pay for v2, just don’t want to do that within the next 6-12 months). Thanks. Quote
Staff MEB Posted December 19, 2017 Staff Posted December 19, 2017 Hi JustMeJ, For reference, Affinity Designer was launched in July 2014 and currently is in its version 1.6. This should give you an idea of what to expect. If i was you i would get it now. Not only it will take quite some time until we reach v2.0, it's also available 20% off right now. JustMeJ Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Thanks, MEB, that time line really helps! Looks like there will be two additional presents under the christmas tree for me this year. Thanks for putting the workbook together, I’ve looked through the reviews and your "Making of" blog post and I trust a company that puts so much care into their "support" materials.
