Bounding box position when masked

I have a rectangle and an ellipse, as shown on the left.  When I make the ellipse a mask on the rectangle and select the rectangle I get a blue line around where the rectangle is, but the bounding box and handles are surrounding some imaginary item.

 

Shouldn't the bounding box either be around the parent object or the masked image?  In MAS it's around the masked image.

I'll take a look at this when I get chance.  The logic for bounding boxes did get changed a bit ago, looks like we overlooked something.
