Yes, confusing isn't it.

Yes, & so is that recording Edit > Fill as a macro step offers the option to choose a custom color when the macro runs, even when selecting the "Inpainting" option during recording, & that step appears simply as "Fill" in the macro's steps. O.o

While we are on the subject, what do you think of my half-baked 'theory' about why select transparent instead of the two step select opaque & invert steps in your macro doesn't give consistent results? To test it, I have been playing around with a modified version of your macro (attached):

So far, it seems to work reliably, but I have not tested it as much as I would like.

I originally used selection of transparent pixels, but then some pixels at the edge didn't get selected. Turns out these were partly-transparent ones, created during the rotation algorithm. Fix for this is to use a 'grow' on the selection. Another, more reliable one, is to select only fully opaque pixels and invert the selection, which I now use.

Have you tried making the selection using the "Select partially transparent" option instead? Since it actually selects both fully & partially transparent pixels, in all my tests it seems to select exactly the same pixels as selecting only fully opaque pixels and invert the selection.

Aha. I'll try that. Thanks, RC-R!
