silverdust
If I had like a face and wanted to place something like this pattern here on it and blend it in. How can I achieve that with AD or AP?
Alfred
Position the face image on top of the texture image and experiment with the various blend modes (applied to the upper layer) in the Layers panel. 'Overlay' is an obvious choice, but 'Multiply' and 'Hard Light' can also yield good results. silverdust 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.4.1 (iPad 7th gen)
silverdust
Thanks Alfred but blend mode of what effect exactly?
Alfred
Apologies for the confusion! I wasn't actually referring to effects: I should have said "layer blend modes" rather than just "blend modes". Go to the Layers panel, select the upper layer and then choose something other than 'Normal' from the dropdown list next to the Opacity control at the top of the panel. jer
Not clear from the question but SilverDust might also want to mask it so the texture is contained just within the face boundary. Depending on the objective. Quote ♥ WIN 10 AD & AP ♥ Lenovo Legion Y520 15.6" Laptop
jer
Not clear from the question but SilverDust might also want to mask it so the texture is contained just within the face boundary. Depending on the objective. Here is an example (link) .afphoto of both methods - the layer groups are named so just click in the visibility boxes to see/hide the method. http://www.fileconvoy.com/dfl.php?id=ge4777a2ea2195ba999997533007b4ad87d8ecb490 The file that can be retrieved with the above link is: blend-texture-and-face.afphoto (44.016 MB). The file will be available on the FileConvoy.com server for the next 10 days. silverdust
Thanks @Alfred @jer . Alfred's solution was what I needed but jet's link was like an extra prize and I'm grateful. This would be useful
