Fill Mode-Alternative and Winding

I would like to be able to set which one I want and not to have to keep setting it. It is nice to have the option to change it if I need to but most of the time I only want winding. In my work, I always use winding, but the default is alternative. Would it be possible to make it user definable or at least have the program remember which one I used last?

Recently this has been making me crazy because I have to change everything that I draw to winding mode. Maybe I'm unusual? Do more people use the alternative fill mode than the winding fill mode?
