How to check the properties of something I have drawn?

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I have created art work using AD 1.1.2, exported as an EPS and then sent to a laser cutting service. My artwork is black in colour but the file shows grey art work when opened by the recipient. I originally created my artwork in an RGB colour space but apparently they need CMYK, and specifically K100 (which I assume is black) to read the files into the laser cutting machine/software. I have now changed my Colour Format in the Document set up dialogue box to CMYK. However, I cannot find a dialogue box that tells me the specific colours of the individual pieces of my art work. I would like to double check what I have used as a colour.

I have also noticed some problems other users are having while exporting EPS files. I have downloaded the Beta version from the Beta section of this forum with a hope of eliminating several problems with my exported file, such as:

1. Colours are different.

2. Portions of the file are exported as bitmaps rather than vectors.

3. Some of the vector parts show only as outlines, fills have disappeared.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Hello, Mediafuel.

you can check the color of your objects by selecting the object you would like to check and then going over to the color pallet and double clicking the stroke or the fill color well at which point you will be presented with the color chooser. You will find what your looking for in that window.

Cheers and good luck.
