bulajap
How many activations are allowed for Affinity Photo for Windows? Does the program need to be deactivated from one computer before installing on another? ( if so, how is it done?) If my computer suddenly dies and Affinity Photo is installed on it, how would I get another activation so I can install it on a new computer? thank you
Alfred
From the Affinity License Agreement: ... you are permitted: 1. if you are a private individual, to download, install, use and run for personal use, one (1) copy of the Serif Software directly on each computer running Microsoft Windows (“Windows Computer”) that you personally own or control. Commercial use is permitted but only use by you and not by any other users of any Windows Computers that you own or control. For example, other members of your household that use your Windows Computers may make personal use of the Serif Software whereas, if anyone other than yourself needs to make commercial use of the Serif Software, the other user will need to make a separate purchase. 2. if you are a commercial enterprise, to download, install, use and run one (1) copy of the Serif Software for use either: (a) by one specific individual on each of the Windows Computer(s) that they use that you own or control, or (b) by multiple individuals on a single shared Windows Computer that you own or control; For example, a single employee may use the Serif Software on both their desktop and laptop Windows Computer, or multiple employees may serially use the Serif Software on a single Windows Computer used as a shared resource. bulajap
Alfred, what if the computer dies and Affinity Photo was still active on that computer and I then bought a new computer, would I have lost that activation? If so, how would I get that activation back? thanks
Alfred
My understanding is that there is no activation as such. If you own the correct number of licenses for your intended use, then it doesn't matter which particular computer(s) you choose to install the software on. pixelworker
Can we clarify this 100%? So you don't need to deactivate a license when reinstalling your PC for example? I'm about to re-install Windows 10 pro on my PC and I'm asking myself if I need to deactivate a llicense omething in Affinity Designer. Or is it really so easy and I just reinstall Affinity Designer at my new Windows installation without the need to thing about anything license related (which would be great!). I clean installed the Windows 10 (1703 update) on a machine that had Affinity Photo installed on it. There was no need to deactivate Affinity Photo. I wiped the C: drive, re-installed Windows 10 Pro, then installed Affinity Photo again using the email address and product key from the below store link (They are listed under 'Downloads & Product Keys'). Affinity Store Link:https://affinity.store/account/ If you're going to re-install Windows 10, if it's not urgent whereby you need to do it right away, it may be worth holding off a little while as the second major update of this year (the 1709 update) will be released soon. You may as well install that version when it's released to the public, but it's up to you as I don't have an exact date when it's going to be released. How exact does the date need to be? 17 => 2017 09 => September Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.4.1 (iPad 7th gen)
