Anna_
Hi, I've searched an answer but didn't find. How can I edit (f.ex. fill with colour or with gradient, convert to curves, etc.) an object that was imported as a png file (with transparent background)? When I draw a circle in AD, I can do with it whatever I want, but when I'm trying to fill an imported object with a gradient, the selection dissapears and I can do nothing with it. Also changing the colour of drawed object is dynamic, but for the imported object I have to use Flood Fill. I'd be grateful for some help. Staff Ben Posted December 3, 2014 Staff Share Posted December 3, 2014 A PNG is a raster image, so you can only use the tools from the Pixel persona. All the tools you are talking about are vector tools, so none of them will work on raster layers. Staff MEB Posted December 3, 2014 Staff Share Posted December 3, 2014 Hi Anna_, Welcome to Affinity Forums. Unless it's a vector PNG file (created in Adobe Fireworks and saved as such), you cannot manipulate the objects independently as Ben said, since they all were flattened to a single layer. Depending on the complexity of the file, you may want to recreate it in Affinity or try an automated tracing software (although the results may not be that great - depending on the type and complexity of the image).
