Septimus Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 After the update to 1.5 on AP it was great to find all the NIK filters were now working but I have now found a problem! If I crop the image it still opens the full image in NIK. If I flatten the image before opening NIK then its OK but I really want to leave the layers available. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way around? Quote
Septimus Posted December 18, 2016 Author Posted December 18, 2016 I posted this 5 days ago and no response. Is no one else using Nik plug ins? Quote
Staff MEB Posted December 18, 2016 Staff Posted December 18, 2016 Hi Septimus, Yes, currently the whole image is sent to the plug-in however after you apply the filter the image remains cropped with the filter applied which is not necessarily a bad thing since you can still adjust the crop after the filter is applied in case it's needed. If you need to send more than one layer to the plug-in you have to merge them anyway which does the same as rasterising the image. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Septimus Posted December 18, 2016 Author Posted December 18, 2016 Yes thats fine except that I do use the frames in the Nik plug ins and therefore loose them when the filter is applied or just get part of them depending how I have cropped the image Quote
Staff MEB Posted December 18, 2016 Staff Posted December 18, 2016 I see, in that case you do have to rasterise the layer before applying the plugin to get rid of the cropped areas. There's no way around that. As long as you haven't scaled the layer this shouldn't be an issue. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
