Raw (RW2) loading time very slow or to long

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am new here from germany. My english is not good, but this Question:

When i load a RAW-File (22MB from LUMIX FZ1000 = .RW2) is the loading time 8-10 Sec. Why ? Other Applications ACDSEE, ADOBE under Win 7 - 64 bit, 16GB (2xSSD 256GB) is by 1 Sec.

RAM is max.

Is fault the affinity-version or? So can i not work.  See the Attach file. Processor is intel i5 and good speed - must works 8sec. for loading RAW by Affinity.

The Range of functions  is very good, but partly slow.

Can you give me a answer to help.

Same is true with Canon CR2 files. When loading a 21 MB file I need to wait 18 sec. Then the UI/Main thread blocks for a short time and the image is displayed. The free tool from Canon "Digital Photo Professional 4" needs 1-2 seconds to open the same images.

There is a second strange thing: Before a RAW is developed, I get one histogram displayed. After developing it, I get a totally different histogram displayed. How can this be true?

Third thing: I could not find a one click way to auto crop an image after I have rotated it, so that no empty background is visible within the image bounds. It taskes to much time to crop it manually, if you are batch processing RAWs.

Please implement fast ways for the following use case:

1) User opens raw file. The raw file opens instantly if photo is already loaded.

2) The user makes his adjustments. Rotate (horizon, walls) and crop to fit is done efficiently.

3) Develop, export and close the raw file

4) Repeat with 1
