Strange layer-in-layer behaviour

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm trying to find out what's going on that I can't add more layers into my object.

I've started to do some arranging and added an object (Diamond).

Once I was happy with it's shape I copy-pasted it a couple of times (to have identical objects).

Next I dragged-and-dropped a photo into my project ad arranged it inside on of my Diamonds.

Did the same for another one.

Now, no matter what I try, when I try to pull newly added photo into on of my shapes (even new ones) the object becomes a white mask.

Fun fact, when I Undo, the objects becomes visible properly again, but the preview is all white for it.

Also, if I drag it into one of the first two layers it works OK (but these have a layer inside already).

Any ideas?

Hi TEcHNOpls

If you drag the image onto the thumbnail it creates a crop for that layer. To get the image to appear in the diamond shape, drag the image in the layers tab to just below the layer you want it to be in. You should see a short blue highlight under the layer which will indicate that the image will be placed inside the layer rather than cropping it. This sound more like what you are trying to achieve.

For the thumbnails taking a while to update, that is a known issue

Ok, thanks for the explaination. I'll try to do this this way.

Also, when I'm doing this "crop" way, it seems to make the layer all white, this doesn't really make much sens to me, and maybe this puzzled me too.
