Affinity Designer exports file into PDF but in wrong page order

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am new to this forum and would like to ask if there is anyone who can help me with my question regarding exporting my Affinity Designer file into a PDF. When I go to "export" and select PDF, Affinity Designer will let me export the file into PDF, no problem there. However, the PDF layout looks different from the layout as I created it in the original Affinity Designer file. The page sequence of the PDF just does not match my original page order. So, for example, what used to be page 15 in my original Affinity Designer file is now page 11 in my PDF version.

It's not that all the pages are taken out of their regular sequence, so the first ten pages or so are fine but then there is this page number mix-up towards the end of the PDF. I would very much appreciate if I could get some comments on this topic and hopefully I can find a way to fix it as I created my job application on Affinity Designer but will need to send it via email as PDF today or tomorrow the latest. Thanks for your help!!

Regards,

Thorsbot77

Hello Thorsbot77,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

The page order is defined by the order of the Artboard's layers in the Layers panel from the bottom to the top, so the bottom artboard layer corresponds to the first page of the exported PDF and the top artboard layer in the Layer's panel corresponds to the last page of the PDF. Make sure you have all artboard layers ordered correctly in the Layers panel.

I understand the nature of the issue.

Will it solve the issue if i, instead of moving layers, create a new file and copy and paste elements to a page. Then create the next page and do same. Until I have done it for all pages in the document.

Will that process arrange the layers in the correct sequence?
