RWhite Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I am using an MI Mac and the latest 2.6 version of Affinity's software (for point of reference). As I cannot currently dock a palette next to each other on my Mac, it was suggested to me on this forum that I reduce the size of the application window and have the palettes float off to one side. Unfortunately whenever I click between Character, Paragraph and Typography (Example) the palette shrinks ever so slightly horizontally each time I switch between them. Which means after 6-7 changes I physically have to resize the palette window. I have also tried the window floating within the application, however when I wanted to change the Font, that window opened up behind the palette. Which is a Hierarchy issue. I have attached images. Finally, I have had affinity less than a week, while largely very impressed by what I see these UI oddities to obviously infuriate. So I would be really grateful for assistance from the forum members or the Affinity Team developers to resolve these ongoing issues. Quote
Staff NathanC Posted March 21 Staff Posted March 21 Hi @RWhite, The font dropdown list hierarchy issue is currently logged with the developers, I've bumped the existing issue with your report. Docking/Snapping panels side by side will hopefully be something the team implement in the future in alignment with the Windows functionality. However, I can't reproduce the issue described concerning the panel group shrinking when switching between panels in a group, can you provide a screen recording demonstrating this, and also confirm your MacOS version? Many thanks Quote
RWhite Posted March 21 Author Posted March 21 Hi NathanC, thanks for responding about the font dropdown and palette resizing issue. Please find attached a screen recording which highlights the particular issue I am having. I am running Mac OS Ventura 13.6. And yes I am aware this is an older OS, this is primarily due to my computer bricking itself when I updated to OS 14. It took me over 2 days to get it back up and running and I have been extremely reticent to go down that miserable route again. As it has been running all my Adobe programs and 3d software perfectly smoothly ever since. Can I also possibly ask about the last Colour swatch used in each application, which doesn't appear to be automatically saved by default. I am finding that when I open another session, whether that be Publisher, Photo or Designer I do not see the palette I used last time that document was opened. Working across multiple projects whether that be on an illustration or page layout, this can be extremely problamatic and annoying to keep a track of. I would be grateful if you could pass this message on to the developers as well. Thanks again. R Palettes shrinking when switching between.mov Quote
