macOS 15.3.2

Affinity Publisher 2.6.0

I have a document where i need author/presenter headshots and text frames grouped, with the text wrapping square around the images. I have to move these grouped image/text frame units around based on how long the bios are, and how I'm able to edit them. As I move one group out of place, it seems that sometimes the image leaves behind its text wrap info, for moving another group in place, the text will jump around an empty rectangle. I have checked and can't find anything strange in my layers.  When I close the document and load it again, the text flows where it should and is not jumping around some ghost rectangle. However, the problem comes back as I work with the groups and move things around to where they need to be. I have to be able to resize the text boxes based on how much text is going in, and where the text is wrapping, so you can imagine how hard this makes it for a consistent workflow, and I'm already behind on this project.

I think this is a bug, as I recently upgraded from the old affinity suite to affinity 2 and have never encountered this behavior before.

It keeps happening in different places on my document, as well as a new document I tried making to see if I had the same problem, so it is reproduceable. However, it doesn't always seem consistent. I will upload sample pages of this document for someone to mess around with and see what I mean. It's driving me mad.

In messing with this document to try to write steps to reproduce the bug, i've also noticed that sometimes text in one frame ignores the text wrapping instructions in another photo altogether. The whole text wrap around an image thing seems screwy. And i had no problems like this in affinity publisher 1. Sort of makes me wish I hadn't upgraded

To reproduce:

Move one of the grouped image/text frames. Move another one close to where the previous image used to be. Sometimes text jumps as if the previous image is still there. (Sometimes it does not, making it even more frustrating to explain).

Hi @tghuguenin,

Unfortunately, this is a known bug in the 2.6.0 Release version which has been fixed in the 2.6.2 Beta...

If you don't have a 2.5.7 version of your document (which I'm guessing you won't have if you've updated Publisher Version 1 to Version 2) you can work with, I think your best bet, even though it's not generally recommended for production work, would be to join the Beta Program which you can do here, and download the 2.6.2 Beta...

Alternatively and recommended, if you do still have a Version 1 copy of your document you could downgrade 2.6.0 to 2.5.7 by selecting 'Previous Versions' from the links below where the bug doesn't exist...

Mac

Let us know whether either option overcomes the issue...

Affinity Designer 2.6.3 | Affinity Photo 2.6.3 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.3
MacBook Pro M3 Max, 36 GB Unified Memory, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1, Magic Mouse
HP ENVY x360, 8 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 5 2500U, Windows 10 Home, Logitech Mouse

Thanks for the quick response. I tried rolling back to 2.5.7 but it wouldn't open the file and I don't have a previous version that would be compatible. For now I'll try signing up for the beta stream until the bug gets fixed in the stable

Okay, thanks for the update, hopefully, the 2.6.2 Beta will resolve the issue but let us know…

been working with 2.6.2 for a few hours now and so far it's worked great! thanks. Will probably continue using this beta until the next stable update with this bug fix rolls out
