Kelly Bellis Posted March 17 Posted March 17 (edited) Launching Pub2 seems normal with initialization, fonts, data, loading, etc. just fine. Opening and Closing an existing .afpub project small-sized - behavior seems normal medium-sized - behavior seems normal large-sized - last page in the project that I had previously worked on loaded, but remained blurred while all of the other 50-something page thumbnails remained white. After waiting for more than 3.5 minutes, the pages all seemed to have been loaded and could be navigated to / from using the page thumbnails as per normal. 3.5 minutes to load this project is not normal. If impatience steps in and I try closing the application before all loading of the .afpub project has had time to fully load, then the Not Responding message can be seen in the upper left margin. I tried looking for some place within the user interface where I could try clearing temporary cache or its equivalent, but was unsuccessful. Thanks very much for any help. mopperle Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Where do you store your files, locally or on a cloud storage? Kelly Bellis 1 Quote Regards, Otto Affinity Suite v2.6.x - Windows 11 Pro
Kelly Bellis Posted March 17 Author Posted March 17 Nothing in the cloud; all on local machine. Quote
mopperle Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Hi Kelly. what you can try to do: afpub files get bigger and bigger while working on them. So open your "large-sized" document and save it under a different name. This usually reduces the size. And it gives you the advantage of have multiple versions of a document. I assume, that in case you use a lot of picture, you have linked and not embedded them. Kelly Bellis 1 Quote Regards, Otto Affinity Suite v2.6.x - Windows 11 Pro
Kelly Bellis Posted March 17 Author Posted March 17 Yes, the Prefer Linked option is used for the default document setup, and yes, there's a heavy use of images. There is some file-size savings, though it seems by not much; however, this recent test did indeed greatly improve load time back to normal when I opened it just now - thank you very much for your help!
