Hi,

One of the most atrocious things happening in Windows is that the mouse pointer doesn't disappear when you start typing. This is what happens:

1. Move the mouse pointer where you want to enter text.

2. Click to move the text input caret there.

3. Start typing.

4. The mouse pointer remains there, adding to the annoyance of its non-requested presence some annoying blinking while you type.

Needless to say, this doesn't happen on the Mac.

Apart for the Affinity apps (at least, in Publisher), with another violation to the Apple UI guidelines.

I ask, therefore, this behavior to be amended, and let the mouse pointer disappear as soon as one starts typing.

Agreed.

Serif, did you foolishly fill the usability specialist role you advertised internally? If so, be transparent with your customers. Continuing without proper UX expertise both insults and affects your entire customer base.

You can hide the mouse pointer while typing in Windows apps - there's a setting in Mouse Properties > Pointer Options. But since Affinity doesn't hide it while typing on macOS this may not work on Windows, either.

I agree Affinity should hide the mouse pointer while typing. I think we've discussed this before but I can't find a thread.
