Searching on Google, it seems every question is the opposite of mine — people want to remove a background on export.  But I want a matte white background so that the text on all the pages is legible.

What can I do?

I'm using Affinity Designer 2.6.0 on Mac Desktop.

I've attached what I see in the export window.

I wish it was simply that... but the transparent background is already off.

Thanks for replying, though. If you have any other suggestions, I'm willing to look into them!

It looks like the ‘transparent background’ might have been rasterised as part of the document.

In other words, the background could either be a raster image behind the text or the whole content of the PDF could be a raster image.

If something has been rasterised then getting rid of the background would depend on how the PDF has been constructed.

If you can share the PDF then someone can look at it.

If you're dealing with an image with the checkerboard baked in try using the cog and set the blend range like this, assuming there's a pixel persona with cog, I don't have Designer2. There's a white rectangle under the first paragraph

I appreciate the comments and help, everyone.  However, I found a workaround that is clumsy but effective.

I pasted a large white rectangle behind each page.  The PDF then exports fine.

I was hoping there was a quick fix but at least I have found something that works for now.

Thanks again!
