Once I have used the Transparency tool and altered the options in the tool bar, I am unable to see the bounding box of the object, nor the transparency tool lines.

I can make the bounding box visible again by pressing H, then moving the document and then pressing V (move tool). If I press H and don't move the document, then press V, the bounding box and visibility tool lines remain invisible.

I can replicate this and I have tried with a new document. It is only an issue if I have used the tool bar options.

I am on a MacBook Pro, M4 Pro, OS 15.3.1

Hi @IsItMe,

A screen recording that includes the complete UI with the Layers panel visible may be helpful so we can see what you are seeing...

The Transparency tool needs to be selected to see the line showing the transparency direction line... By default, 'H' selects the View/Pan tool...

Attached is a screen recording. Hopefully you can see that once I have made a change to the Transparency tool on the tool bar, then until I have selected H and moved the file, then I cannot see the bounding box or the line for the transparency tool - although I am able to change the transparency tool on the object by dragging on it, but the line is invisible.

I have just discovered that it exhibits the same behaviour with the Gradient Tool. I need to use H, move the file and then select V before I can see the bounding box again.

Edit: Just to add that I have discovered that this is specific to if I add a stop (if that is the correct terminology) to the tool (gradient or transparency) - as I show in this screen recording. If I just reverse for example, it works as expected and I can still see the bounding box and tool line.

Hi @IsItMe,

Many thanks for the screen recording, that all makes sense now...

This is a known bug logged under AF-1289 which is still awaiting a fix, but you should find that zooming the canvas in or out slightly will then show the bounding box for the object with transparency or a gradient applied when the Move tool is selected...

Thanks so much for the response. I did try and go through all the previous reports and decided it was just me ha ha!  ( My name here is IsItMe)

Zooming will be a bit quicker than my work around, thank you.

No problem, I'm glad there is at least a workaround until the issue is fixed...
