befehr
I am experiencing extremely slow response times in AD when opening dxf files, exported from SolidWorks, and saved as Adobe Illustrator. I am assuming that it's because there is just too many object to process. I don't have this problem in Illustrator and CorelDRAW though. Most of the files I am dealing with are in the 1 MB to 1.5 MB size range. An example for one of the images is: Paths: 26003, Points: 53499. I have tried opening up in Illustrator first and reducing nodes, but that doesn't help very much. Typical workflow: 1. Open model in SW. Position as dimetric and export as dxf. 2. Open dxf in vector based application and simplify drawing by removing superfluous geometry (extra tangent lines, unnecessary object, etc) 2a. Open in AD. 3. Apply thick and thin lines. 4. Export for insertion into documentation and presentation files. Any thoughts or help is greatly appreciated. -Bill Edit: I guess it would help to add some computer info. Staff MEB Posted July 27, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 27, 2016 Hi befehr, Sorry the delay replying. Thanks for the file. I'm experiencing the same thing on my system (Mac). I'm passing this to the dev team to be looked at. befehr 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
