Philosoraptor - Jeff H Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Autocorrect doesn't seem to be applied to text I type, ever. (I realize it only applies to newly typed text and not to things pasted in which is the bulk of my new additions. But it's not being applied to new revisions I make either.) For example, three consecutive periods are not changed to a proper ellipsis character, nor does "adn" get changed to "and". Autocorrect is definitely enabled in Edit -> Preferences, and those two items are definitely in there as are several others I tested. As another example, note the arrow in the previous sentence - your web forum managed to autocorrect "-" followed by ">" to an arrow, but your software does not! Quote

MikeTO Posted February 2 Posted February 2 One of the most common causes of this is using a version of English other than US or UK. Affinity doesn't include any AutoCorrect defaults for English Canada, Australia, etc., and there's no way to copy the US or UK ones as a starting point, you must set it all up yourself. Also, the Settings > AutoCorrect tab will default to English US or UK, depending on your UI language, not to English Canada, Australia, etc., so as Carl stated, you need to select the language in AutoCorrect or you're customizing the wrong one. If you're using a version of English other than US or UK, I recommend going through the US or UK lists for AutoCorrect, Abbreviations, and Title Exceptions and making notes of everything you need and then manually creating your own language-specific lists.
