In the document, because I am preparing it for print, I converted all PNG images to JPEG and relinked them. Then, I created a new package and reopened the document. However, in the Resource Manager, it still shows images in the PNG format, even though there isn’t a single PNG file in that folder. It seems to remember some old file extensions and want to relink again, realy mess for me.

Can you provide me with a Dropbox link so I can send you the package? The file size is 4.58 GB.

I just noticed while searching for the image location in Font Manager – using the "Show in Finder" option – that it retrieved a link from a previous location. I had manually re-linked each PNG individually, create new package but Publisher did not remember this now position of relinked files and instead retained the link from an entirely different folder, not from the latest package I created. The issue, therefore, lies in updating the links.

"Now I have a problem in the resource manager linking an image with a long filename, because I can't copy it for Finder, and when I try to enter it, it's too long. The process of prelinking is simply inefficient, as the computer could easily remember the image name without the .png extension when I click on the image, and it could find the .jpeg version. But as it is now, this simple operation is becoming insanely complicated."

This is simply crasy, I like to quit app, and I need to save document, but untiteld option appear instead of save original document. Should this app work properly ever? And in resurce manager is missing usable row of colour profile, RGB or CMYK - very important for web or print files and proper screen colours.

I made several packages because I was adding new graphic elements, but when I was changing images from png to jpeg and successfully changing them and creating a new package, I noticed in the resource manager that the images that were supposed to be in jpeg were still in png and in this new package they were not linked to the image folder but to a previous package. This happened despite the fact that when I opened the document, when the program searched for new links, because I had thrown the png out of this folder, I still kept the links in a completely different package. I think that the links should be tied to the time of the new placement in the new folder. It would definitely be great if I could simply throw the newly corrected document from png to jpeg into the folder and overwrite them, of course only if the .png and .jpeg extensions did not affect the recognition of photo, but rather the overwriting would only take into account the photo name, so the process would be much faster.

And i belive very importand solution to see colour profile and missing files in resource manager

t happened again, I made a new package, when opening the document I had to reset the missing links, I changed everything to jpeg, but when I open the image folder in version 7 of the package, there are png documents inside again, which Publisher pulled and relinked according to some logic, I can't get rid of these png images, I throw them out of the package and when I create a new package they are there again, crazy.

Have you replaced them in the file?

I trow out all png files and replace jpeg files in image folder inside package, yhen of cource, when sttart document you need to replace each broken link, I did it and then I create new package to be shure, that everyting should be OK, when I in new package document and open resource manager, png files was there again - create package link them into package from some old link packages.

Now I start again and drop just one jpeg  in document / alma jeziček....? and it crached again, just stop working and crash. That is my 7th package

Alma jeziček knjiga 18-2.jpg

png & jpeg are different files, just removing the png & replacing them in the folder will not replace them in the file, refreshing the links without replacing in the file will just refresh the pngs because they are still in your file

The only solution left was to go page by page and physically delete every .png image and replace it with a .jpeg. 44 images on 156 pages of the document, which could have been done with just one copy of the new images to a folder or some kind of replace option that would ignore the extension. Crasy.

So, I deleted all the PNG files, physically, page by page, replaced them with JPEG CMYK, and created a new package again to start from a clean position. I check the image folder in the new package—there isn't a single .PNG file inside. OK, I open the Publisher document in this package and check the Resource Manager, and what the hell—there's still a bunch of .PNG images that I had physically deleted. This is absolutely crazy. I really have no idea what else to do.

Resource manager, some photos are linked some not, I import it at the same time and what now, is it in or it is not and how can resource manager recognize all unlinked photos? And is very slow, I have 32 GB DRAM.

I solve PNG files that copy all in new folder on external disk, then unlug it and relinked all jpeg instead of png page by page, repalced, and now I have problem with nonrecognized links. Nightmare.
